The Huari or Wari settled in the vicinity of the current city of Ayacucho and extended their influence throughout almost the entire Puno and the Peruvian coast. Its capital city, Wari or Viñaque, was a model of architectural design, with large constructions for housing and administrative centers made of stone. Pikillacta, a Huari citadel near Cuzco, also had a great urban heyday between 700 and 800 AD, a time when it was home to artisans and workers who kept the city alive.

Made in 100% alpaca, sumptuously soft yet extremely durable and lightweight yet warm, for people sensitive to sheep wool rest assured alpaca fiber doesn’t irritate the wearer as it is hypoallergenic.
